We are meeting at University Community Presbyterian Church at 6:PM (4:PM if you are signed up for helping set up) and will have a lasagna dinner followed by a slide-show of this year’s events, songs, testimonies, and desserts. there will be a wide variety of people present at this event including UCM staff, students, board members, and of course our supporters. Please feel free to bring your favorite dessert to share as we come together to celebrate the amazing things God has done this year. Please RSVP by April 20th

you got it Folks the Spring Break Trip is Friday the 9th of March to Tuesday the 13th. we are once again heading to Anchorage. We are Staying the night at St. John’s United Methodist Church and will be helping out at Empty Bowls, singing at St. Johns, Skiing at Alyeska, and more. for a complete list of times, events, and items to bring please contact the UCM office ( office@uafucm.edu ) . Cost is $225 for Skiers and $175 if you are not Skiing)

Long time no see, Margaret used to be in charge of updating the Website but she is not here right now and i’ve been shirking my duties as temporary fill. Not to fear though, i’ve conquered the website and am now able to post by year (e-gads!). so if you are wondering where all of last years posts (and further back than that…) have ended up check out the  box to the side of your screen (its over there  -> )

you will want to look under 2007… like i said this website has thwarted us. However there is one important thing i need to let everyone know. Tuesday Worship  - also known as Vespers – will continue to be held at 7:30PM. i know some of you expressed concerns when i failed to update the website concerning that piece of critical info, but I’m letting you know it has officially been decided. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and hope you will forgive me, i promise to be more diligent in the future.

Welcome to the Spring 2012 Semester! After leadership this Sunday January 22nd (anyone is welcome to visit), we will start off the semester with Vespers on Tuesday January 24th. Last semester, we discussed moving the time of Vespers up a hour. We will sent out an email with the time, but it is above the Lola Tilly Commons on Tuesday.

We had a wonderful Christmas Party this past Friday! Thank you Community Covenant Church for opening your doors to house the party. Thank you Amanda Huff for enjoying our fun party.

Just one reminder that if you want to provide something for Big Brothers/Big Sisters we are giving the stuff to the family on Thursday so make sure the items are in the office by then.

Good luck on your finals. May you have a Merry Christmas and safe travels wherever you go this break. Until next year may God bless you. May your memory of the wonderful story of our Savior’s birth be refreshed.

It’s the week before finals and through the campus nothing was stirring not even a mouse. Okay, some people are walking around to class, but almost everyone is working hard to finish the semester well. Everyone needs a break though, so join us tonight above the Lola Tilly Commons at 7:30 pm for a night of Christian worship. Lara is bringing Christmas Gingerbread Cookies, which will be delicious. Jonathan will read scripture. Hope you can join us!

If you cannot maybe you can come to our last Thursday Night Bible Study. We meet at the office 306 Constitution Hall at 5:30 pm. It will be a bittersweet time.

If those two times do not work then come to our Christmas Party on Friday, December 9th. We will meet at the office at 5:45 pm. We are heading to the Poineer Home for some Christmas Caroling. After we carol, we will go to the Community Covenant Church where we will have a white elephant gift exchange for about $5. It will be a time to say farewell and have some laughter before finals.

Remember to are trying to make a family’s Christmas Wish List through Big Brothers/Big Sisters. If you want to give a donation towards a gift or some food remember to bring it before December 14th.

I pray you can stay focused, and remain filled with peace in the midst of stress.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Some of us went to the Moore’s for Thanksgiving, and we had a nice time with nine pies, cupcakes, muffins, pumpkin roll, and SO much more. Thank you to everyone who provided food for us and to those who helped prepare on Wednesday!

We are having Vespers TONIGHT, Tuesday at 7:30 pm. David will have a message. Bethany will read scripture. And Jess will bring snack. Come join us and sing a few Christmas hymns!

We have Thursday Night Bible Study at 5:30 pm this Thursday. We are still looking at Nehemiah. If you have not been coming this might be a good time to come since all of us will probably need reminded what is going on in Nehemiah. We meet at the office at 5:30 pm and head to the Moore’s house.

We are also sponsoring a family through Big Brothers/Big Sisters. If you are interested in providing one of the items sign-up, or email us. All gifts are due December 14th. You can wrap them before you bring them to the office or you can wrap them here at the office in 306 Constitution Hall.

I hope everyone has been refreshed. I pray that God’s peace and strength might be with you and that you might see him through the dark and cold of winter!

We are still having our usual Tuesday and Thursday activities this week. We will have Vespers next week and have a Thanksgiving meal on Thursday.

This Saturday all girls are welcome to meet at the office at 6:30pm for a scavenger hunt. We will scavenge for about an hour and meet back at the office at 7:30 to end to Contra Dancing.
