Narrow or Wide??By David MooreOn the retreat last month we talked about the differences between the wide and narrow roads of life. Below are the lists of the wide and narrow road behaviors that we came up with as a group.
I hope that when you look at these lists, you will think about the road that you are walking on, and if you are where you need to be today. God Bless, David |
UCM Event UpdateFundraiser Dinner:The 12th annual UCM Fundraiser Dinner was held at the Fairbanks Princess Lodge last month. It was the second largest fundraiser Dinner that UCM has ever hosted. Those in attendance enjoyed a great dinner of either lasagna or chicken, while waiting to see if they had won one of the many door prizes. UCM students, Crystal Sumner, Niki Greer, and Josh Brewer, shared their testimonies while Alex Taylor and Jessica Faulkner showed the UCM slideshow “movie.” Luckily the snow held off for the evening as we all feasted and laughed inside. For more on UCM events and updates feel free to look on our newly redone UCM website: www.uafucm.org Student TestimonyBy Carrie HessCan you remember a time when you felt absolutely alone? We’ve all encountered some problem that made us wonder, “Where are you God? Did you desert me?” College is a time where many of us feel more confused than ever. At least for me, college has been rough. For me, one of my problems was finding true, close friends. However, this past month, I moved in with Clarissa and fellow Christian roommates, Tessa and Hilary. Within the first couple of days, I felt these girls treated me different than ANY friend that I had had in a long time. So many signs pointed back to the fact that I was supposed to find these caring friends, from big similarities to small. Before I moved in we already owned the same socks, blanket, and deodorant! These girls showed me that humans can be good natured. This was a foreign idea to me before. There was a reason I was supposed to wait for my prayers to be answered. After the entire wait, I am more grateful than ever for the people I have met and the things I have experienced. What is your problem? Maybe you do not know what you are supposed to do after college or you are worried you will never find “Mr. or Mrs. Right.” Remember, no matter what your problem is, remain faithful to the Lord. “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” (Psalm 27:14). |
